Synopsis (Goodreads):

Cvareh returns home to his sky world of Nova with the genius crafter Arianna as his temperamental guest. The mercurial inventor possesses all the Xin family needs to turn the tides of a centuries-old power struggle, but the secrets she harbors must be earned with trust — hard to come by for Ari, especially when it comes to Dragons. On Nova, Ari finds herself closer to exacting vengeance against the traitor who killed everything — and everyone – she once loved. But before Ari can complete her campaign of revenge, the Crimson Court exposes her shadowed past and reveals something even more dangerous sparking between her and Cvareh.

While Nova is embroiled in blood sport and political games, the rebels on Loom prepare for an all-out assault on their Dragon oppressors. Florence unexpectedly finds herself at the forefront of change, as her unique blend of skills — and quick-shooting accuracy — makes her a force to be reckoned with. For the future of her world, she vows vengeance against the Dragons.

Before the rebellion can rise, though, the Guilds must fall.

Hiya bessies!

How are you all?

I finally read the second book of the Loom Saga!

tenor

If you bessies remembered, I reviewed the first book of this as a book tour. If you’re interested in reading my review of it, click here.

Anyway, I was pretty excited when I finally got my hands on the book that I practically shoved all my other reads just to read this baby. And bes! I loved it!

The story just got interesting in this one. I knew Cvareh and Arianna is a thing. I shipped them at the first book. I was actually slight curious as to who’s going to confess first and my bet was on Cvareh. Haha! (I’ll let you bessies guess who. ;))

I like that Cvareh and Arianna’s feelings for each other were made known in this book. There’s romance in it now compared to the first one. And you bessies know I dig romance. I was kind of giggling every time there’s CvaRianna (yes, I made that up. Hope Elise won’t mind. XD) moments! I like their moments. The two of them are like rubber bands, no matter how they pull themselves from each other; they will always come snapping back up. Hah!

However, as much as I loved the romance scenes in this book, it kind of felt short on the other aspects, namely the adventure and action. There was not much excitement going on and that’s one of the things I was looking forward in the second book especially that Arianna arrived in Nova. I thought there’s gonna be something exciting happening but there was not so much. The exciting thing that only happened to Arianna in Loom was being named as Cvareh’s mate. Things happened in the Crimson Court doesn’t really count because the result of Arianna’s battle was to be expected.

Also, I kind of saw the twist coming my way. The secret Arianna was hiding from Cvareh, I kind of guessed it. But it still didn’t stop me from having wide eyes. Haha! And there’s that too, the twist. It also felt short of me. I mean, I wasn’t that satisfied by it. 😀

The ending though, not the very end but about what happened to Cvareh’s sister, Petra. I wasn’t expecting it. For someone so cunning and clever, I did not expect Petra would end up like that. I mean, she’s wise and all but why did she not see that coming? I was a bit disappointed about what happened to her in the end. She was my favorite Oji.

And that last POV. I almost forgot who that guy is. Haha! But then I remembered. And now I want to read the third book and find out what happened to my favorite chimera. I’m so excited for the release of the third one! I hope December would come faster!

To wrap this up, the second book is good. When it comes to the romance part, the second book is my favorite. But if it’s the adventure and action part, I like the first book more. Still, these two books are amazing. My second read from Elise Kova and so far, I am digging her work. I might put her up as my favorite high fantasy author.

You bessies should read this series. I am recommending this to you big time! You should read it! if you love steam punk fantasy with dragons and chimera, half dragon half human, this book is so perfect for you! Go ahead and devour it! 😀
