Hiya bessies!
How are you all?
Been a while since my last Wattpad review and it’s also been a while since I last read a Wattpad story. Now I just got back to reading Wattpad books again so here’s a review!
Let’s start!
This story is written by a local author and is written in the local language. So my review will be in Tag-Lish or Tagalog-English language. 😀
Loving Sebastian Green is a story that is inspired by the book Fifty Shades of Grey. It was actually re-titled, it was former titled as Loving Sebastian Grey and changed into Loving Sebastian Green. And because it is inspired by that book, it is being compared to it. I admit that there are many similarities between the two books; however, it is not enough to say that it is plagiarism.
For one, Fifty Shades of Grey is a BDSM book while Loving Sebastian Grey is just an adult-romance book. It doesn’t have a hardcore sex scenes compared to Fifty Shades. If I am being completely honest, the sex scenes in this book are just baby scenes compared to other adult-romance fiction I’ve read both in Wattpad and in published books.
Second, though the basics are the same, billionaire guy fell in love with a simple girl, the plot twists are not the same at all. Because Ana is Christian’s first love while Addison is Sebastian’s second; Ana saved and healed Christian from his dark past while Addison healed Sebastian from his past heart break; Christian was adopted by a rich family and worked his way to the top while Sebastian wasn’t adopted and married his way to the top.
So you see, the two books aren’t the same to be called plagiarize so I can’t help but think that those people who keep saying that the author is writing a plagiarized work are the people who haven’t actually read the Fifty Shades trilogy. Just bunch of people na nagmamarunong kasi walang magawa sa buhay. Lol!
What I love about this book is that all the plot twists are well hidden. I practically did not see them coming my way. It’s the kind of plot twist that only Filipino Wattpad authors do, they blindside you. Seriously. Most of the local authors I know don’t do foreshadowing. When they do, you won’t notice it making you blind to the twist.
I love the characters in this book especially Addison. When she met Sebastian, she didn’t give in that easily. When Sebastian somehow rejected her, she didn’t push it. And when Sebastian came back for her, she actually didn’t jump right back to him. And I like that about her.
The story is good and it shows loyalty and real love despite being tested with temptations. I also had a lot of good laughs while reading this. I seemed to find Addison’s reactions to some things cute. I mostly face palmed myself whenever that happens but still, cute.
To wrap this up, this book is good even though the author went through hell from readers saying bad things about her work. For me, lahat ng mga sinasabi ng mga readers na keso ginaya lang sa FSoG ang librong to, they don’t know the deeper story of the trilogy. I would recommend this book to you bessies but it’s written in our local language. But if there’s a Filipino reader who happens to get lost in this blog and read this review, go ahead and read Loving Sebastian Green. It’s a good and funny story. 😀
Thanks for reading up to here bessies! Love you all!
