Book Tag

Book Blogger Insider Tag

Hiya bessies!

How are you all?

It’s been a while since my last book tag! So here’s another one! 🙂

Once upon a time, Drew @ The Tattooed Book Geek tagged me to the Book Blogger Insider Tag. Thanks Drew! Be sure to check Drew’s blog out! He’s funny and he’s got amazing content!

So let’s start!

The Rules:
1. Answer the questions below
2. Credit the creator Jamie @ALittleSliceofJamie
3. Tag at least 5 people
4. Have fun!

Where do you typically write your blog posts?

Well, in my laptop. I don’t write my blog posts anywhere as this blog is not really an open thing to my friends. I have friends that knew that I blog about books but I don’t advertise my blog so I don’t write my posts anywhere for fear that they might read my contents.

How long does it generally take you to write a book review?

It depends on the review I’m writing. If it’s a rant kind of book review, it’s usually longer than my average time. But if it’s a chill kind of review, which rarely happens, it would be around 30 min or so. If it’s a fan-girling kind of review, well, it’s the same with the rant review. Haha!

When did you start your book blog?

I started this on the month of May in the year of 2016. Yes, you got that right. I just celebrated my second year blogversarry last month! Yay!

Unfortunately, I didn’t have an internet connection during that month plus the fact that I was busy fighting my final exams, so I didn’t get the chance to post any anniversary blog posts.

What is the worst thing about having a book blog in your opinion?

Well, honestly, it’s the pressure: the pressure to keep up with other bloggers so you won’t get left out. Since this is a book blog, the pressure of my TBR that doesn’t seem to lessen no matter how many I try to read from the damn pile. Haha! Still, I love blogging. Despite the pressure, I love what I’m doing and will keep doing it. I’ll keep posting about my thoughts about books and other stuff. This blog isn’t for authors and books only. It’s for me too, to relieve my head from thoughts.

What is the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?

Though I’ve said something about the question above, the best thing about having a book blog is also the other bloggers. Haha! Sure I get pressured by them but they are the greatest people I get to talk to about the only thing that I want to talk about all day long. Not a lot of people can actually relate to me about books in my real life and it’s really amazing that I get to meet awesome book bloggers that just know and understand my love of books. It’s the best to have people you can talk to about books all day if you want. Also, it’s the best that I get to help authors with my reviews and promoting their works here in my blog. I love that I am helping them. Not to mention, you’ve got the ability to influence non-readers to try and read books! (And don’t get me started on the free books! Haha!)

What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?

The amazing book tags! I’m not gonna lie, every post I write are fun but book tags are the most fun. Haha! And I call myself a book reviewer. I should’ve been a book tagger. Ew. Hahaha!

What is your favorite type of blog post to write?

Uhm… book reviews. I know I enjoy book tags but book reviews just let me be myself while I talk about the thing I love, reading. Aside from struggling how to start my book reviews, when I start writing them, the words would just pour out of me and my fingers would just move and then they’re in the computer and being posted in my blog. My reviews are a glance of who I am.

When do you typically write?

I do not like writing blog post during night time. Night time is reserved for reading time. So I typically write during day, around morning after having a shower and a bite of fruit/bread for breakfast. I’d write blog posts till afternoon if I could. But it wouldn’t be every day just whenever I got something to write. Whenever I’m not writing, I’m reading.

Do you review every book you read?

Not anymore. When I was new to blogging, I tried reviewing every book I read. But then I realized that it’s too much work and it put pressure on me and I feel like reading is not something I enjoy anymore but a work I need to do so I can make my blog going. So I put categories on the books I read. The ‘For leisure’ reads and ‘For review’. However, I don’t restrict myself to these categories either. Whenever I read a book that is for leisure and then I want to review it, then I will review it. But when I read a book for review, I will really review it. Haha!

How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of coffee or tea? With Netflix? Cuddled with your fur baby?

I write my reviews mostly with music on my earphones or the stereo. Basically, I write my book reviews with music playing. Oh and the notes I took during reading the book I’m reviewing. Yes, I take notes whenever I read books for review. It helps me remember the key points and the stuff I want to point out in my review. It works like tabbing. 😀

When do you write your book reviews? Right after finishing a book? Two week after finishing a book?

I write my book reviews as soon as I can. Not right after but as soon as I can sort my head and feelings towards the book I just read. Most of the time, the book would leave an impact on me and I would have a hard time sorting my thoughts. Whenever I tried writing reviews right after finishing the book, I would just stare on the blank document file of MS word on my screen with my head still a roller coaster of scenes and emotions from the book I just read. So that’s not really helpful. Hehe.

How often do you post?

If you’re new here in my blog, you might think that I don’t post much. However, if you’d been here for quite a long while, you’d know that I post every day. I have this sort of schedule about my blog posts. I post book reviews during Tuesdays and Thursdays and I post weekly memes, tags, or skits during Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Saturdays and Sundays is when I mostly write what I post. Due to things I couldn’t control, I couldn’t meet that schedule anymore. Life happens and it keeps happening so I’ve got little time to blog. But I am trying to get back on my groove. I am balancing blogging, reading, attending uni, and other extracurricular activities. So far I am doing a bad job at balancing anything. Haha!

It’s been a while since I posted a book tag and I don’t know if these people have done it already or not but I’d still tag them.

I tag:

Mandy @ Book Princess Reviews

Joel @ Descendant of Poseidon Reads

Allen @ Allen the Page Turner

Joana @ Bookneeders

James @ This is My Truth Now

And that’s it for this tag! Wow! I miss doing book tags, bessies! Tag me please whenever you feel like tagging me! I’m begging! Haha! I need more activities for my blog. I hope no one forgot about Jannin who calls her followers bessies. 😀

Thanks for reading up to here, bessies! Love you all!
