Hiya bessies!
How are you all?
Welcome to my tour stop of The Right Fit Blog Tour!!!
Let’s get started on the review!
This book is about a woman who discovered her fiancé was cheating on her. She decided to drown herself in food and soap operas when her sister decided to set her up on blind dates and rebound sex to help her move on. When one night, she met a very hot man and ended up sharing something with him, an attraction both of them could not ignore. Both of them has their own secrets, and both are using each other for their benefit. However, if those secrets are out, there’s no guarantee that their relationship will last.
First thoughts about this book, this is going to be a normal NA contemporary read. And I could be fine with that, sure. And I was right, it was a normal, usual NA contemporary book. However! There’s a little unique detail in it! And I love this twist because I’ve never read this type of detail on other NA contemporary books from foreign authors.
Let’s talk about the man heroine, Maxine Nicholls.
I like Max. I can relate to her that moment when she was heartbroken. I understood why she was still holding on to the feelings she invested four years of her life with. And because I understood her side so much, I was a bit biased to like her. And while I was reading it, it was fine. However, when I got around the end of the book, I got kind of annoyed of her decisions. Well, maybe not the decision per se but to her stubbornness towards her decision. She is really stubborn. I mean, sure I understand that their relationship started with lies and that’s hard to get passed with but Antony was repeating and repeating his feelings for her. Nanggigil ako!
Then there’s Antony Laurent.
The guy is half-French, half-Greek. If that’s not perfect I don’t know what is. I agree with Maxine about Antony having a lethal combination. And I don’t love Antony because of his physical looks or that because he’s the main hero of the book. No. I love Antony because he loves Maxine unconditionally! And if you read the book, you’ll understand why it’s a big deal.
The story is great! I would even say it is very unique from all the contemporary new adult books I’ve read. Why? There’s something in there about Maxine that’s really unique and unusual to romance heroines. I like the steamy parts, I’m not gonna lie. Even though it’s not as steamy as other adult books but I like it because it started with attraction first before lust. I mean, they both were crushing each other before they went intimate. And they didn’t had sex at the very first. They took it slow and seriously. And I love how Antony appreciated Maxine every time they do it! Maxine always felt loved and worthy.
What I love about this book and why it stands out to me from other new adult, romance books is Maxine. Her. Really. Not the stubbornness part but she’s the source of uniqueness of this book. You don’t see someone like her in other books, trust me. Though I admit she’s not the first type of character I’ve read with this concept. That other book just so happened that the leading man is also half-Greek. I guess Greeks love women like Maxine. 😉
To wrap this up, this book is really great and unique. I keep saying the words unique and unusual because the book really are. You gotta read it to understand why. So yes! Read this, bessies! I totally recommend this book!
